Infrastructure Maintenance – inland waterways

A significant part of our work involves providing workboats and competent crews to the various navigation authorities and their contractors in the UK carrying out infrastructure maintenance projects.
 

Our tugs and barges were recently deployed on the River Lee to work along side a specialist arboriculture company involved in clearing vegetation and trees from the canal towpath and also the offside areas. Our barge mounted hiab was able to remove trees and bushes from the waters edge that were difficult for the tree surgeons to reach from the bank.
In west London we assisted a British Waterway’s contractor involved in the maintenance of canal stop gates. In order to drain down the stop gate section a fabric dam was used which we delivered to site in one of our barges and deployed from the barge. The debris in the bottom of the drained section of canal was loaded into the barge for onward disposal.
