Wood, Hall & Heward Ltd was established as a limited company in 1997 by Tim Wood, Charles Hall and Gerald Heward. The founding directors each have over 30 years experience in the marine, inland waterways and construction industries.

The company was set up to exploit a gap in the market for a knowledgeable and professionally run inland waterways workboat and freight transport company in London and the southeast.

Government policy and environmental concerns are increasingly favouring alternative transport modes to relieve road congestion and reduce pollution. Against this background we have continued to expand the company, taking part in various R & D projects aimed at increasing freight use of the waterways.

The Olympics together with major property developments and infrastructure projects in the London area continue to present new opportunities for greater use of the inland waterways networks.
